Just had my last shot!!!  Very excited about that!  Retrieval on Tuesday morning.  Feeling really good about this!

Well, I had my ultrasound yesterday and everything is looking excellent!  Dr. Sanchez did the ultrasound which he has never done before, the tech usually does it.  He said I am looking much better than last time.  The dang nurse had to stick me twice again for my blood draw!  What is up with that???  Gayle called me later on in the day and told me again how perfect everything is looking.  She said retrieval will be on Tuesday at 8:30am and then we will put them back in on Friday!!  I have to do my last 2 stomach shots tonight!!!  Then we do the HCG trigger shot on Sunday night.  I am so glad to be done with shots today!!

I had my first ultrasound since starting the injections this morning.  10 follicles!!  I only had 5 before.  They took blood and then I had to wait for Gayle to call me back.  She was very excited when she called.  My new meds are definitely working!  I need to take a little less of one of the drugs and start a new one tonight.  Too bad that involves another shot!  So, now I have 2 shots a night in the stomach.  Then I go back on Friday morning for another ultrasound.  Gayle thinks I will do my trigger shot on Sunday and then have the retrieval on Tuesday!!!  I can’t believe it is happening so fast!

I had major ovary pains today.  Pretty uncomfortable all day.  I looked at some of the  side effects of one of the meds I am taking and it said “general body discomfort”, seriously. That is exactly how I felt today!  It also lists abdominal pain-check, headaches-check, breast enlargement-why couldn’t this side effect happen to me!  The shot was not as bad tonight, I used my Lamaze breathing to get through the burning and that helped quite a bit.  Dave thinks I am being ridiculous of course, but I say whatever works!  Who is the one getting injected anyway????  Today I was back to work.  It was nice to see everyone again but still kind of a bummer to have to get back into a routine.  One more shot tomorrow night before I go for my ultrasound.  Hopefully my follicles will be busting at the seams and I won’t need anymore shots!  Highly unlikely though.

Last night’s shot burned a lot.  I think I will have to go back to numbing the spot with ice before Dave does it.  It also seemed like a lot more than the normal little bit leaked back out of the injection site.  So, we will try numbing tonight, hopefully that helps.  It’s hard to tell if I am feeling side effects of the meds yet.  I still have my period so mixing that with injections just pretty much sucks!  To top it all off, today is my last day of summer vacation!  I get to do laundry, clean the house and go grocery shopping!  Doesn’t sound like fun??? We do have a family bbq at Jackson’s later on today.  Ok, time to get motivated!
