Much better weekend!

This weekend was much better than last!  Saturday we (mom and I) spent most of the day shopping.  We were looking for shoes and accessories for mom’s wedding (coming up this Friday!!!).  It did not start well, we were not finding anything.  After we refueled with lunch we hit that jackpot at, of all places, Burlington Coat Factory.  We both found the cutest shoes and I found all my accessories too!

Sunday we spent the morning at the beach.  It was a gorgeous day.  Ty was crazy enough to get in the water, like all the way!  It was still freezing! We enjoyed lunch at the Palm Pavilion and then headed home around 1.  Good thing we got there early because the traffic coming in when we were leaving was ridiculous!  It was backed up all the way over the bridge and into downtown!  Now how can it be Monday already!!!! At least I don’t have to work Friday, we will be in Key West for my mom’s wedding party!!

Double ear infection.

So, last night did not go so well.  Ty was up from 3-6am coughing and just generally being miserable, therefore I was up being miserable as well!  Ugh.  I am so tired.  We got him to the doctor at 1:30 and he has a double ear infection.  It was pretty funny, in a sad kind of way, when we were leaving for the appt.  the garage door was opening and Ty was like, “Why is everything so quiet? Oh, my ears are not working!”  That kind of clued me in that there might be something going on in those ears!  We already gave him his first dose of antibiotics.  I also got some new cough medicine that lasts 12 hours, so he better be sleeping through the night tonight!  Dave had to actually show his driver’s license to buy it, you know it has to be good stuff then.  Wish us luck that we get some sleep tonight!  We will all be going to bed early for sure.

Weekend update.

Well, this weekend was kind of a bust.  Friday night we had a lovely steak dinner with twice baked potato skins at home.  Ty had started coughing a little and had a bit of a runny nose but nothing too bad.  Well, Friday night he woke up at 2am coughing, with a fever and a plugged up nose.  So we gave him some medicine and waited for it to start working.  He woke up several times throughout the night so finally we let him just stay in our bed.  Pretty much, we got no sleep. Saturday he just seemed to get worse.  When he had his medicine he was doing good but as it wore off, not so much.  We had made plans with Matt and Suzanne to go down to the beach to enjoy this beautiful weather we are having and had to cancel on them.  I was pretty disappointed about that.  I was really looking forward to it. Saturday night we just got Taco Bell for dinner and waited to be able to put Ty to bed early.  We were all going to go to bed early.  I don’t know if it was from that kind of high you get when you are totally exhausted or what but around 6:30 I was full of energy.  I took it upon myself to clean the entire house!  Seriously, scrubbed the kitchen, swept, mopped, vacuumed.  I even got out the Magic Eraser and scrubbed all the cabinets with it, those things really are amazing!  After I was done cleaning we managed to watch the 3 episodes of Glee we were behind on and Modern Family.  Then we were definitely ready for bed!

Sunday we had decided to have brunch at our house.  We invited Jackson and Casey to eat with us as well.  Mom made Eggs  Benedict and a cheesy hash brown casserole.  I made some Monkey Bread for the kids to eat.  The whole purpose of the brunch was really so I could try a Bloody Mary.  I had never had one and I thought I might like them.  I was right, they are quite tasty!  The boys played all afternoon and we enjoyed some outside time, it was a gorgeous day.  Ty was definitely feeling better.  Hopefully he is feeling good and sleeps all night tonight and wakes up good to go for school tomorrow.  I really can’t believe it’s freaking Monday already!  2 weeks to go until mom’s wedding and the big party in Key West!

Ty’s first sleepover!

Ty had his first sleepover this weekend.  Granted, it was at his grandmother’s house but still, I think that counts.  He was so excited to go!  He kept asking me all day, “At what time are we going to grandma’s for my sleepover?”  It was pretty funny.  Saturday night mom offered to have hims sleep over and Dave and I could celebrate Valentine’s day a little early.  How awesome is that???  So, of course he had a blast with his grandma.  He even went to bed at a decent time.  Too bad he woke up at 5:45am!  Sorry again mom!

While Ty was away Dave and I enjoyed a lovely dinner of salad, lobster and bubbly at home!  We also got to watch a movie, too bad it was pretty terrible.  You Again, I don’t recommend it.  It was weird waking up with no Ty in the house.  It was very quiet while we ate breakfast.  Just felt odd.  Hope everyone has a happy Valentine’s Day!
