Recovery and Thanksgiving.
Posted in: Rhi, West StuffThis recovery was a lot worse than my last one! I did not start feeling better until Friday! Thanksgiving was at Jackson’s house and I pretty much sat in a corner and felt terrible the entire time. It sucked. It did look like everyone else was having a good time though. I also did not like the way the vicodin made me feel. Just way too loopy and out there, and not in a good way! So, I did not get to enjoy any of the Thanksgiving food, it was pretty disappointing. Luckily, we had another Thanksgiving on Saturday that I was feeling good for. Mom was great and made me a whole Thanksgiving dinner! We had Amanda and Austin and Dave’s grandmother come too. The food was delicious, all the traditionals were there, turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy and the star of the show was the yeast rolls we made. They were so freaking good! Thank you to Suzanne for letting me borrow her awesome KitchenAid mixer (now I need one of my own, I am not sure how I have lived without one…). With the mixer the rolls were not too difficult and they were delicious! I also made a from scratch chocolate cake that was pretty good too (also used the mixer for this and it was super easy!). It was good food and good times with great peeps! We had a lot of fun and I even got to drink a little bubbly as well!
I had my post op appointment today. He said everything looks good and all the soreness should be gone in a couple of weeks. I am also having some numbness around the incisions, he said it wasn’t normal but sometimes they can nick a nerve while they are in there and it could take a few weeks for that to start feeling normal again. Hopefully that resolves itself soon, it does feel very odd! Other than that things are going pretty well. I am looking forward to winter break (3 weeks away) since it doesn’t feel like I got much of a Thanksgiving break. I do have some pictures but Dave hasn’t got them off his fancy new camera yet.
