Well, I am on the road to recovery. I tried to go to work today but was still really tired. Took a few naps today and am feeling better. Belly is still sore but not painful. I hope I am not as tired tomorrow. I have a doctor’s appt tomorrow at 9:30 to get my stitches out. He will also talk to us about the next step: IVF. I still have to have another surgery to remove my appendix before we start any IVF but it will be good to get some answers. Once we finish this appt I will get the doctor’s referral for the appendix doc and then be on our way to get that taken care of. I will update on what happens tomorrow.
Surgery update.
Posted in: RhiThe procedure went well but we didn’t get the great news we were hoping for. He cleaned a lot out of me but both my tubes are pretty wrecked by all the endo. So, our only option is IVF. I am ok with that as long as we know now we can work towards the next step. He was very positive about IVF and said there is no reason why it will not work for us. He also said there are a lot of options for payment and not to worry about that piece. Dave was great he is already talking about getting a 2nd job to pay for it. The other part he found was a little scarier. The edno has wrapped around my appendix and pulled it like a rubber band all the way down to my round ligaments. There it has attached to some arteries by my legs. He is referring me to a doctor that specializes in that surgery to have my appendix removed. It is pretty serious though, if it were to burst or get infected I could lose a leg or die! He wanted to just take it out yesterday and the doctor that does the surgery was there but by the time he found it he called him and he had already left. My doc was pretty upset that he coudln’t get it done but he wanted to leave it for the doctor that specializes in it. He said in 6 weeks I should have that done. Once that is all taken care of then we can proceed with the IVF. So, not all terrible but not the greatest news either. So far I am feeling ok. The gas pains are in my shoulders and that is pretty painful. They gave me Tylenol with codine and that seems to be working well for me. My mom has been great, she is on her way over to cook breakfast since I am starving!! I still had to have clear liquids for the rest of the day yesterday so I am ready to eat now! Thank you all much for your thoughts and prayers.
Tomorrow I am going in for surgery. I am having a laparoscopy done. Not to go into too much detail but my periods have gotten really bad over the last 3 months and hopefully this will help. It will clean out the endometriosis and hopefully make my periods less painful. It also just might help with the fertility issues we have been having. My doctor said it’s about a week of recovery, depending on how much “cleaning” he has to do. I am excited to have some relief from the pain but very nervous about the procedure. I have done this one time before but I am still scared! I am sure everything will go just fine but you still worry. I have to be at the hospital at noon tomorrow but I can’t eat or drink anything from midnight tonight! I am hoping my nerves will keep the hunger at bay. That is a really long time to go without eating! Another bummer, no alcohol tonight. How am I suppose to sleep now??? I am sure Dave will be updating on Facebook but I will update here as well.
Beautiful weather.
Posted in: West StuffFriday we took advantage of this beautiful weather we are having and had dinner on the beach. The weather was perfect. Ty played on the beach for a bit and then we headed over to Frenchy’s to eat. Dave had their Cuban, which he loves, mom and I had fish tacos (they were just ok, nothing special) and Ty had a grilled cheese. We did get a pitcher of Sangria and that was really tasty! Ty had a blast as always, that kid loves the beach!
